RSPCA Wyth Sir Branch

The RSPCA Vision

It’s our vision to work for a world in which all humans respect and live in harmony with all other members of the animal kingdom.

About our Branch

We are a local branch of the RSPCA. We were previously known as Gwent and Brecknock Branch before merging with Glamorgan North and East branch and therefore becoming Wyth Sir. This new name translates to eight counties which is the new area we cover, consisting of; Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Monmouth, Newport, RCT, Merthyr Tydfil, South Powys and Caerphilly.

Wyth Sir raises money locally in these areas and all money raised stays within these areas to support animal welfare.

Our branch is run by a committee of seven, locally elected volunteers who are responsible for the management and administration of the branch’s affairs.

We have been helping local wildlife, pets and pet owners within the local community for over 125 years.

Wyth Sir Branch raises money locally in these areas and all the money raised will stay within the eight counties listed to support animal welfare.

What We Do

Our welfare phone line offers advice and issues vouchers for help with emergency vet bills for pet owners struggling financially.

The Branch supplies Pet food to local food banks and community fridges.

We have two Animal Welfare Officers who Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome within the local communities. They can do home visits, collect medication, advise on welfare issues and help with transport to vets.

The Branch Manager visits schools and clubs to give talks on what the Branch does and how it can help within the community.

Currently, we have two shops, Chepstow and Cwmbran. Both these shops help to generate income for the charity. However, we still rely heavily on the kindness of our lovely supporters.

Our amazing team of volunteers help with absolutely everything, including taking and making phone calls, issuing vouchers, dropping off food donations and donations for our shops, attending events, working in our shops etc.

Funding

The cost of all that we do is tremendous, but we know first-hand how much difference every penny makes to this charity. We are here to support our local community in raising the funds that are needed to keep going. As a self-funded charity, it can be difficult to raise the funds we need year on year to support and care for the animals that we rescue. We appreciate all the support we can get from our local community to follow our vision. If you would like to find out how you can help, click the button below.

Supporting Us

Alongside running our own fundraising events throughout the year, we are always keen to hear from supporters in the community who are interested in organising and running fundraising events or activities to support the branch.
We could not operate without the support and hard work of our outstanding volunteers, who give up their time for the Branch so we can help thousands of animals each year. Our volunteers are so valuable to the work that we do, if you are interested in joining the team and helping us achieve our goals then please get in touch.
